Sunday June 30th from 9 AM to Dusk. Mike Diederich is our military sponsor.
At West Point’s Round Pond. RMSC has reserved the Recreation Pavilion.
The Round Pond recreation area is about 1 mile west of Route 293 on Round Pond Road.
Route 293 runs about 6.8 miles, from Route 9W to Route 6.
From Route 9W, take Route 293 south for about a mile; Round Pond Road is on the right.
Details on the location and amenities can be found on the Round Pond web site.
Please check it out so you get an idea of where we’ll be and what we can do.
* The picnic is “FREE” because RMSC is paying for use of the facility, and to facilitate our planning, no food or drink is being provided. You are on your own for paddle boat rentals (e.g., paddle boats) and other stuff, described below and on the website:
Bring your own food and drink plus whatever you want to share with your fiends.
The recreation area has basketball and volleyball courts. Bring your own toys (or rent stuff there).
The Round Pond has a beach and swimming area available for a fee and open from 11 AM to 5 PM. The daily swim pass is $4/adult and $3/child (3-13); children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. No alcohol or glass is allowed in the swimming area.
Paddle boats & kayaks can be rented for $6/hour. Life jackets provided with rental, and required. I’m told you can bring your own kayak.
Come join the fun! Bring friends!
